SAH Students Selected for 2-Week Student Training Program in Medical Technology with Kyoto Tachibana University

The School of Allied Health Sciences (SAH), Walailak University, proudly congratulates 10 Medical Technology students who were successfully selected to participate in the 2-week Student Training Program 2026 in collaboration with Kyoto Tachibana University, Japan, under the theme “A Collaborative Case Study in Medical Technology and Cultural Exchange.” The program was designed as an inbound–outbound training experience, with 1 week in Thailand and 1 week in Japan, to enhance students’ global competencies and professional skills. The selected students i.e. Pimmada Kaewkhiao, Natnicha Sopa, Suphakan Phonlachai, Sujitraporn Durian, Suwichak Sukpan, Alisara Chadakorn, Piyathida Kanchanakan, Kanyapach Leejueywara, Yosita Khosithaseam, and Krit Tapchum, joined the program alongside 10 students from Kyoto Tachibana University, creating a vibrant international learning environment.

 

The program was conducted in two phases: 16-21 March 2026 in Thailand and 24-30 March 2026 in Japan, providing students with comprehensive academic and cultural experiences. The initiative was led by Asst.Prof.Suriyan Sukati (Project Head) and Assoc.Prof.Manit Nuinoon (Head of the Medical Technology Department), who accompanied and supported the students throughout the program.

 

During the Thailand phase, hosted at Walailak University, students actively participated in case-based learning, laboratory sessions, and collaborative academic discussions, which strengthened their technical knowledge, critical thinking, and teamwork skills. The program also emphasized communication in an international academic setting, preparing students for the overseas training phase. The Japan phase at Kyoto Tachibana University provided valuable exposure to advanced laboratory practices, research-oriented learning environments, and professional standards in Medical Technology. Students engaged in hands-on training, academic exchanges, and interactions with Japanese faculty and peers. In addition, cultural activities such as campus tours and city exploration allowed students to gain deeper insights into Japanese culture, work ethics, and healthcare systems.

 

The School would like to express sincere appreciation to Assoc,Prof.Kohki Okada from Kyoto Tachibana University for his strong collaboration and commitment, which played a crucial role in the successful implementation of this program. SAH also extends its gratitude to all Medical Technology faculty members for their dedicated support in organizing and facilitating the program. Overall, this program provided a comprehensive international learning experience, combining academic excellence, practical skill development, and cultural immersion. The participating students reported significant growth in their global perspectives, confidence, and readiness for future professional practice in an international healthcare environment.
