𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧
The Medical Technology (International Program) at Walailak University has launched an exchange program for student research training and collaboration in Germany. Asst. Prof. Issara Prachongsai, representing the Medical Technology Programs, accompanied five undergraduate students to visit two renowned research institutions.
Three students, Mr. Nithiwat, Ms. Santhita, and Ms. Pawinee, were selected to join Dr. Med. Thomas Bumm's research group at the Universitätsklinikum Würzburg for two months of research training (1 May – 30 June 2024). The training focuses on molecular biology and therapeutic drugs in oncology. This training program offers them the opportunity to engage in joint research projects, attend specialized workshops, and immerse themselves in the academic and cultural environments of their host institution.
Ms. Zia and Ms. Nattacha, chosen for research training in innovation, have joined Biotechrabbit GmbH in Berlin. Their training includes developing diagnostic kits at an industrial level. The scientific innovation at Biotechrabbit is expected to broaden the students' perspectives on research and its industrial applications. The Medical Technology Program (International Program) at Walailak University is the first international bachelor's degree in Medical Technology in Thailand, certified by the Thailand MT Council. The program aims to produce qualified graduates in medical laboratory sciences meeting international standards. All Student will receive support for research training costs, airfare, and stipends during their international training.
The launch of this exchange program marks a pivotal moment in the realm of international education and research. By facilitating cross-border collaboration and cultural exchange, the program is paving the way for a more interconnected and innovative global community. Participants are eager to embark on this transformative journey, which promises to leave a lasting impact on their academic and professional lives.
