National Physical Therapy Day 2025

On January 20, 2025, the Physical Therapy Program, School of Allied Health Sciences, in collaboration with the Physical Therapy Clinic, School of Allied Health Sciences, and the Rehabilitation Medicine Clinic, Walailak University Medical Center Hospital, organized the “National Physical Therapy Day” under the theme “Healthy Aging: Walk Well, Stay Sharp, Stay Safe, and Be Cheerful,” reflecting the motto set by the Physical Therapy Council. The event was presided over by Associate Professor Dr. Vorawut Somsak, Dean of School of Allied Health Sciences, with an opening address by Assistant Professor Dr. Salila Cetthakrikul, Assistant Dean for Social Engagement and Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

 

The event featured a keynote address by Mr. Pongthep Fungtrakun, Mayor of Tha Sala Municipality, highlighting the municipality’s role in elderly health care. A lecture titled “Dementia in the Elderly” was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Jirapath Navarattan, providing valuable insights. Fourth-year physical therapy students conducted an activity to promote physical movement, “Stay Strong: Balance Training for Seniors.”

 

Additionally, the event included physical therapy health screening stations offering services such as general health assessments, dementia risk screenings, and physical therapy treatments, receiving an enthusiastic response from attendees.
