SAH Research Unit of School of Allied Health Sciences organized an academic position activity.

          On 25 June 2020, SAH Research Unit of School of Allied Health Sciences organized an academic position activity. Asst. Prof. Dr. Sueptrakool Wisessombat welcomed the lecturers that Asst. Prof. Dr. Vorawut Somsak was the moderator of the event, which was divided into 2 main parts. First part, there was the exchange of criteria and documents related to the academic position application by Asst. Prof. Dr. Puangthip Bhoopong as a speaker. Second part, sharing of the experience of the academic position with the newly appointed Assistant Professors was honored by Asst. Prof. Dr. Praphatson Sengsoon, Asst. Prof. Dr. Jirarat Songsri Asst. Prof. Dr. Wannisa Kumban and Asst. Prof. Dr. Moragot Chatatikun. At the end of the activity, the partipants also listened video clips from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jitbanjong Tangpong, Dean of School of Allied Health Sciences, to know the guidelines and preparation of the School's activities which encourage lecturers to enter the academic path complied with the university's policy and to promote career advancement as well. In this regard, SAH Research Unit would like to thank you to the moderator, the speakers, the lecturers and all the staffs who participated in this event. Meeting room for this event was Banburee room, Academic Building 7 in which there were 44 lecturers.

Research Unit, School of Allied Health Sciences organized “How to conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis”

 

                 On June 22, 2020, Research Unit, School of Allied Health Sciences organized “How to conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis” which was honored by Associate Professor Dr. Manas Kotepui at Rachavadee conference room. For this activity, the speaker described the steps and methods to analyze data and create an article for systematic review and meta-analysis. There were 31 staffs and students participated in this lecture.

Submit paper talent

          As SAH Research Unit has been registered the  person who submitted a paper to a journal in the second round of the Submit Paper Talent. Conditions for the registration are a lecturer at the School of Allied Health Sciences and a document about submitting a paper from a journal. For registration in this activity of the SAH Research Unit, there are 9 participants with 10 papers which are 2 accepted, 6 under review, 1 rejected and  1 submitted  papers. On 30 April 2020, the Submit Paper Talent was honored by Assoc.Prof.Dr. Jitbanjong Tangpong, Dean of the School of Allied Health Sciences for 3 lucky draw lectures. Graduate affair of School of Allied Health Sciences, opens the club as a “SAH Smile Club”

          The graduate affair, School of Allied Health Sciences, has managed the relaxing corner for the students in the advantages of talking and counseling in several topics such as how to live in the University, how to study and learn, as well as student meeting. Anyway, close supervision from advisors is also considered. Therefore, "SAH Smile Club" has been opened for these mentions earlier on Thursday 20 February, 2020 at SAH Smile club room (SAH corner 3), 2 floor, Academic building. Exhibition of Nipa palm vinegar powder and tablet on the welcome of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn

          On February 17th, 2020, the prototype of health supplement products “Nipa palm vinegar powder and tablet” were exhibited by Asst. Prof. Dr. Wiyada Kwanhian, Department of Medical Technology, School of Allied Health Sciences, Walailak University with researchers from Walailak University in order to welcome Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn at coordinating center of Pak Phanang River Basin Development due to the Royal initiative, Nakhon Si Thammarat. This research product was granted from several funding agencies including Agricultural Research Development Agency (Public Organization), Thailand Research Fund, and Office of the Higher Education Commission.

          From the research finding, it was found that Nipa palm vinegar from Khanab Nak, Pak Phanang was marinated vinegar that suitable for functional food. Antioxidant, reduction of lipid digestion and absorption, anti-hyperglycemia, anti-hypertension, immunomodulation, and anti-bacteria were also observed. These effects were potent as similar as Apple cider vinegar and Balsamic vinegar. Moreover, when the Nipa palm vinegar powder was produced by spray dry technology, the activity was still remain. Therefore, this product should be studied and developed for commercial in the future that support agriculturists and upgrade the local product to be the high value.

Student Affair, School of Allied Health Sciences, Walailak University participated in merit-making activity of the traditional of giving alms

          On Friday 14th February, 2020, Student Affair, School of Allied Health Sciences, Walailak University participated in merit-making activity of the traditional of giving alms to the fire by making crispy omelet with steamed rice for 63 monks and novices, and participants at the Dharma fair, Chor Pradu Food Center Walailak University. Walailak Abode of Culture was the host for this activity.

           For “the traditional of giving alms to the fire” it is a unique tradition of Buddhists in Nakhon Si Thammarat that have faith in Buddhism. Fire was lighted to warm and cook the food for monks and novices in the dawn morning. This activity is becoming a traditional that has been carried on for a long time.
